Here at the Informatics Centre, we want to make your project as successful as possible. We have a process in place to ensure it goes smoothly and that you are happy and informed throughout.
We use a project methodology called Agile, as it allows us to break your project down into smaller chunks. We can then get feedback at each stage and incorporate that into the next stage of development. We prefer to use agile methodologies since these encourage increased client interaction and allow the end result from the project to much closely match your needs.
Design phase
Our initial design phase allows us to gather information, understand the problem, explore ideas and come up with solutions for your project. We will produce concept designs so you can see what your website or app will look like.
For more complex websites and apps, we might recommend a time-constrained, five-day design sprint. By the end of this process, you will be able to see what your product will look like and how it will work before any development has started.
Small iterations / release often
In the development phase, we start building your product. We will create it in small pieces and make these available to you when ready. This methodology provides us with a number of advantages:
- Customers can use your product sooner.
- Issues can be identified and resolved faster.
- If your priorities change, we can focus on features that are most important to you.
- The product is constantly improving and advancing.
Early feedback
By developing and releasing your product in small iterations, we can gather feedback from you and your customers early on. This can help to:
- Improve your product’s features.
- Refine the user experience.
- Help your users feel heard and valued.
- Improve customer retention.
- Help measure customer satisfaction.
Handling changes
We know through our experience that changes need to be made during development. We always encourage you to make suggestions as your product is developed. If the change is small, we might be able to accommodate the change within the scope of the project. If not, we can cost the change and amend the project’s timescale.
